How do I get a banner on my story?

In order to request a banner, you can either make your own, or go on the onedirectiononline message boards to request a banner from a graphics maker.

To put it up as part of your story, you can enable TinyMCE in your account preferences. This will allow the text box to have a toolbar similar to the one in Microsoft Word. Click on the small image of a tree on the toolbar, and paste in the link of your banner. If you use HTML, you will have to use a HTML code, which you can find here.

Take note that your banners must be 650x200px maximum in size, or it will be taken down by an admin.

How do I make bold/italics/underline?

For tinyMCE, you should be able to just click on the respective functions.

On HTML, <b> text </b> for bold. <i> text </i> for italics. <u> text </u> for underlines. Or find any other essential HTML codes here.

There are ten million series names when I preview my story before I upload it, but I’m not part of any of them! What do I do?

This is, unfortunately, a minor bug in the system. Rest assured that when you click upload all of the series names will disappear.

What is “Story Bumping”? Why can’t I do it?

Story bumping is when you constantly upload empty/fake chapters to “bump” your stories up the most recents or post a chapter containing content that isn't of narrative (eg. a sequel or new announcement). You are not allowed to do this, as it is unfair to those who update their stories honestly. Should you be caught doing this, you will be warned and are at risk of having your account locked and story deleted.

What is spam reviewing? Why can’t I do it?

Spam reviewing is when you or another person constantly “spams” a story with reviews, either to bump the review count up or to annoy the person. Such is not tolerated. If found, your account will be locked and your story (and all its reviews) will be deleted.

What is the “read count” and what does the number mean?

The ‘read count’ is how many people have come about to reading your story.

We do not have copies of the stories on the site. We do have backup files, starting from August 2013 on, so there is a chance we can help. We suggest that, in the future, you keep a hard copy, or at least a soft copy in your computer’s hard drive.

Why is my account locked? Why is my story gone?

Chances are, you have been breaking one of the rules constantly (e.g. story bumping, spamming, leaving rude reviews or plagiarising). If you have any questions, contact us at account@onedirectionfanfiction.com.

My story has been plagiarized on another site! What do i do?

Contact us and we will try our best to have it taken down on the other site. Try to get in touch with the moderators of that domain as well.

The site is down! I can’t load it, the page won’t work, it’s loading so slowly! What’s going on?

It could be that the site is undergoing maintenance. If not, it is probably server downtime - sometimes the server overloads. The best thing to do is be patient and we will work on it.

If you're unsure whether it's the whole site or just your internet/brower, you can always check: downforeveryoneorjustme.com
